Academic Ranking of Universities of the World (Shanghai)
The ranking system of academic universities in the world (Shanghai) has
ranked universities at the global, continent, and country levels since 2003.
Designed based on quantitative indicators, this ranking system evaluates more
than 1200 universities of the world based on the level of education, level of
faculty members, scientific productions, and university size on an annual
basis, reporting the results of 500 top universities of the world. The data
collection sources of this ranking system include the Nobel Prize website,
Fields Medal website, highly cited Thomson Reuters researchers, citation
database of Science Web, and questionnaires
filled by universities. The

1. Number of graduates winning a Nobel Prize or Fields Medal (10%)
Level of Faculty Members of Universities
2. The number of faculty members winning a Nobel Prize or Fields Medal
(20%)
3. Highly cited researchers (20%)
Scientific Productions of Universities
4. Number of articles published in Nature and Science magazines (20%)
5. The number of articles indexed in the citation profile of sciences and
social sciences (20%)
University Size
6. Research performance of the university based on the number of students
and faculty members (10%)
